The Greatest Form Of WorshipJesus, this is the day, You spoke "it is finished," this reason You were sent You came to show us the heart of our Father who gives and loves, unbent While you walked among us, You constantly pointed the way, to Him You showed us who He is, such an awesome God, full of love, so passim You showed us He is not a God we need to hide from, to be feared, But He loves us deeply, calls us constantly, to Him we may draw near This day You asked Father remove this cup from Me, but not My will You sweated drops of blood as You wrestled with your flesh that You overcame, did kill You are well acquainted with our thoughts, our suffering and all of our pain You showed us great compassion with kindness, that day you were treated so inhumane You endured being beaten, mocked and spit upon, You did this for our peace You carried that wooden cross down the Via Delarosa, Your Spirit you would release On the walk to Calvary, that place You hanged on the cross, Your body was in major shock Blood loss was so enormous, Your very life being drained, but You did it for Your flock Your body was lifted high upon that wooden cross, spikes were driven into Your hands and feet Your death, slow in coming, You were mocked and laughed at, but the enemy You did defeat For about nine hours that day you endured such great suffering, such ridicule and loss You looked down at those mourning for You and two thousand years ahead, with such pathos You questioned "Father, why have You forsaken Me?" Your eyes full of pain, as You looked up Loudly You spoke, "Father into Your hands I commit My Spirit," You showed us that day, the greatest form of worship Debra McGee Trammell Good Friday 04-14-06 Father God, thank You so much for Your love and desire for us all. On this day we mourn the suffering our Christ went through for us. We also rejoice, because although, He died, He rose again. Thank You Lord for dying that I may be free. Set others free please that they may see You. In Jesus name I ask. John 4:21-26 NKJV 21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." 25 The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things." 26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." Luke 23:34-37, 44-47 34 *Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God." 36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself." 44 Now it *was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was *darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in *two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into Your hands I commit My spirit.'" Having said this, He breathed His last. Isaiah 53:5 KJV 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
