The Greatest Form Of Worship

Jesus, this is the day, You spoke
"it is finished,"
this reason
You were sent

You came to show us
the heart of our Father
who gives and loves,
unbent

While you walked
among us,
You constantly pointed
the way, to Him

You showed us
who He is,
such an awesome God,
full of love, so passim

You showed us He
is not a God
we need
to hide from, to be feared,

But He loves us deeply,
calls us constantly,
to Him
we may draw near

This day You asked
Father remove
this cup from Me,
but not My will

You sweated drops of blood
as You wrestled with
your flesh that
You overcame, did kill

You are well acquainted
with our thoughts,
our suffering
and all of our pain

You showed us great compassion
with kindness,
that day
you were treated so inhumane

You endured
being beaten,
mocked and spit upon,
You did this for our peace

You carried
that wooden cross
down the Via Delarosa,
Your Spirit you would release

On the walk to Calvary,
that place You
hanged on the cross,
Your body was in major shock

Blood loss was so enormous,
Your very life
being drained,
but You did it for Your flock

Your body was lifted high upon
that wooden cross,
spikes were driven
into Your hands and feet

Your death,
slow in coming,
You were mocked and laughed at,
but the enemy You did defeat

For about nine hours
that day
you endured such great suffering,
such ridicule and loss

You looked down at those
mourning for You and
two thousand years ahead,
with such pathos

You questioned
"Father, why have You
forsaken Me?"
Your eyes full of pain,
as You looked up

Loudly You spoke,
"Father into Your hands
I commit My Spirit,"
You showed us that day,
the greatest form of worship

Father God, thank You so much
for Your love and desire for us all. On this day we mourn the suffering our
Christ went through for us.
We also rejoice, because although,
He died, He rose again.
Thank You Lord for dying
that I may be free. Set others free please that they may see You.
In Jesus name I ask.

John 4:21-26 NKJV
21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me,
the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem,
worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know;
we know what we worship,
for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is,
when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth;
for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth."
25 The woman said to Him,
"I know that Messiah is coming"
(who is called Christ).
"When He comes, He will tell us all things."
26 Jesus said to her,
"I who speak to you am He."

Luke 23:34-37, 44-47
34 *Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them,
for they do not know what they do."
And they divided His garments
and cast lots.
35 And the people stood looking on.
But even the rulers with them sneered,
saying, "He saved others; let Him
save Himself if He is the Christ,
the chosen of God."
36 The soldiers also mocked Him,
coming and offering Him sour wine,
37 and saying, "If You are the King
of the Jews, save Yourself."
44 Now it *was about the sixth hour,
and there was darkness over all the earth
until the ninth hour.
45 Then the sun was *darkened,
and the veil of the temple
was torn in *two.
46 And when Jesus had cried out
with a loud voice, He said,
"Father, 'into Your hands
I commit My spirit.'"
Having said this,
He breathed His last.

Isaiah 53:5 KJV
5 But he was wounded
for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace
was upon him; and
with his stripes we are healed.
