*~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~
In one accord the birds do fly
With minds a-tuned to nature's call
They ride the wind's swift flow of breath
Before the winter's first snow-fall
*~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~
Announced by flapping wings outstretched
They form a tapered V in line
The leader cast no look about
But none is left alone behind
*~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~
Brave hearts together do what they can
Hear no shout of loud commands
Yet inner voices grow er' strong
No course of flight indeed is planned
*~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~
God's loving care immensely shown
Instinctively o'er sea and land
They keep a ritual old as time
All trusting in the Master's hand
*~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~ *~*~
Trust is strong amoung these birds
Each takes a turn to lead the rest
All fly forward at their best
Changing places to pass the test

Note:
A lovely sight to see is the V shaped line
of white geese flying on their winter's trip
down South. A poet friend has graciously
informed me that there is not a specific
leader of the pact, As the front man gets
tired, another one slips into place and
the exhausted bird falls in line behind.
God's hand at work !
This is so amazing!
Thank you, retaliation poet!
