Heart Of The Matter

A Living Hell

Beneath grey skies the moon is far from sight,
I make do with the glow from candlelight,
I stare into the blue and golden flame,
And wonder if I'll hear from you again,
I close my eyes, it's there I see your face,
And feel the love, for now, I can't replace,
Perhaps in time I'll find a love that's new,
For now, my every waking thought is you,

I'm caught within a spiral spinning low,
They say the time has come for letting go,
The dizzy, dismal thoughts; now fill my head,
And I hold on, to all the things you said,
It's true; sometimes I wish we'd never met,
The day would dawn and I would just forget,
Yes, love has held me in its magic spell,
But without you, each day's a living hell.
