Commercial plastic! We live in a world of material things, Things that are nothing but prosthetic! For the plastic people in the material world, A life of ‘things' is a life so pathetic! A commercial plastic conveyor belt, Churning out rubbish by the score, Plastic people in a plastic world, Plastic cards keeping the score! See it, want it, need it, get it! Pay on the card we have made of plastic, More debt then mounts up and builds, Unlimited, pliable like elastic! Must have it, need it to show the world, That we have all the material baggage, When all we really have…is debt, And our resources wane like a limp cabbage! Plastic people in a plastic world, Surrounded in plastic accessories galore, Got to be better than the rest! Because that's what plastic cards are for! To trap you, bind you, bring you down, With a weight like nothing on earth, Take a step back, lose the plastic, Tell me, what are you worth? Commercial plastic all around, Falseness on show for all to see, That plastic will slowly choke you, And take the life from you and me! …Commercial plastic… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
