+*^^*+ The Diary of a Cop +*^^*+

Farewell brother!
Today I said farewell to my best friend
We were close as brothers to the end
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
Sharing all our tough ups and downs
In all our rough times we always found
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
Time to seek advice and to confide
No secrets did we ever hide
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
We were always close to each others side
We were young cops and were asigned
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
On a mission where the board between
Our country and Guatemalan meet
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
We were boarder guards on duty at that time
Where the illegal "aliens" crossed over
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
Huddled masses of families creeping out of sight
But that night someone threw a hand grenade up high
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
And it came crashing down beside my friend's leg
At once he bent to pick it up
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
He tried to throw away this bomb of death
And as I let out a startled cry
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
It exploded right before my eyes
With such a blast that I was thrown yards away stupified
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
It blew my friend up to the sky
My heart was shattered too as I cried
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
In the darken bushes alongside the barred wire fence
My gun useless against the stampeding masses
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
Of human flesh, not caring that my friend was gone
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
Forever!....Oh! how I cried!
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
For I lost a part of me that night and for all I try
I can't stop the dreams, for I see angels flying high
+*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+ +*^^*+
As they lead him to heaven in the sky

Note:
My husband was a cop for 13 yrs. in our
country iof Belize,n Central America.
He told me many tales of his experiences
as a young cop.
In that part of the world, the Law signifies
nothing to outlaws, who do not respect
the law r policemen.
