Part I - Meeting

This is Part I of a journey with fellow poet Shell Heller(
http://www.geocities.com/shell_heller/index.html0 )for whose co-operation and inspiration I am eternally grateful

In this dross drab noisy room
I tasted electricity in the air
Turning saw her straight away
Standing so seductively there
She felt my gaze
Felt my fire
Shivered slightly
At my desire

senses fine-wire taut, i felt charged
air kiss thought with unexpected heat,
too vague to understand, too deep to
alter or avert softgaze from the knowing
that he had already touched me, broken
through the noise of commonplace …

I couldn't tear my gaze from her face
As I tried to work my way to her side
across this emotionally charged room
suddenly seeming a continent wide
I stood beside her
Couldn't speak
Urgent desire
Making me weak

around me voices fell into another world,
fading echoes meaningless and empty,
distance had dissolved so fast and there
he was beside me as i stood my ground
yet fell into his silent gaze of unspoken
thoughts that spilled bright colours wild
between us changing room and heart
into a promise smiling with new secrets

mood indigo oozed and flowed gently
round this transformed jazz club floor
moulded bodies touching screaming
yelling signalling great need for more
held each in the others' arms
we danced cheek to cheek
will the spell be broken
when finally we speak

the music never left the moments as
we stood in silent invitation to each
other's dance, indeed it seemed we
were the music as he drew me to the
center of its composition and we slid
into the raw of othersound where
every note was a touch as quickly met
by our response as it breathed pure
need, desire and transformation.
i could not tell what was sound and
what was flesh but his arms around me
said it was ok to let go of everything
that held me wire-taut inside myself
