Heart Of The Matter

Patience

Sometime soon,
When patience plays its hand,
Another year,
Another grain of sand,
Will find itself alone,
And lost at sea,
I fear the lonely grain of sand,
Is me.

When patience runs its course,
As time will tell,
Will hopes lay dormant?
In a wishing well,
A silver coin,
Deciding destiny,
Remaining trapped,
Or finally,
Breaking free.

Or will I find another,
Road to travel,
Another puzzle,
Simple to unravel,
With many cryptic clues,
Along the way,
My patience tested,
Each, and every day.

I want my hopes, my dreams,
I want them now,
But for the life of me,
I don't know how.
