Long Live The Queen©You left us early new years day 1995. It began quickly and was over before i could arrive. I stood and watched your eternal sleep. The screams and tears let go for them i could not keep. But you were at peace the first in a long while. When i could choke back the tears: i could see you smile. For you knew a better place awaits. Your pain would be gone inside the pearly gates. It seemed the whole town was there to share our grief. It was nice to have support and give us some relief. At graveside we sagged into metal chairs. And took comfort in smelling the earth prepared. For you would be laid to rest and taken to your new home. Your pain would be taken away and be replaced with a golden crown: you'd wear upon your throne! {This poem is dedicated to my sweet mother on mother's day and although she's far away: i know she can read it. It was hard to see thru the tears to type so i hope i got it right} Copyright ©2006~S@L~ Vote for this poem |
