ForgivenessI drown in a formidable sea of unforgiveness. My heart bulges from yet another of your thoughtless indiscretions. I vacillate, like a shuttlecock, between martyrdom and release. My inability to forgive keeps me mired in a world of limitation. Forgiveness is not the condoning of misdeeds. It is a personal act of love that releases harmful anger and irritation that you no longer wish to own. I choose to honor myself and cast off my weighted shoes. I float like a feather in a breath of wind, freeing my burdened soul and cleansing my emotional body from this undeserved onus. Darkness is replaced by healing light as I spring forward into virgin territory, toughened by experience, but, refreshed and titillated by exciting, unlimited possibilities.
