Heart Of The Matter

Much Too Much

It's true that love can break a heart,
It withers and it dies,
It's lost amongst the memories,
Deceitful, lying eyes,

It takes some time to mend it,
It's hard to trust again,
It really isn't worth it,
For it only brings you pain,

The bitter tears of longing,
The long and empty years,
That feeling long forgotten,
Replaced by doubt and fears,

Until some star filled summer night,
When the moon bestows its madness,
And without rhyme or reason,
Brings an end to fear and sadness,

In an instant you have fallen,
You're caught in love's sweet net,
You find that long lost feeling
You once hoped you'd just forget,

You find your heart still beating,
Still yearning for a touch,
And you'll know, that aching feeling,
Comes, from loving much too much.
