I gaze out my door and survey the land,
taken aback with the color, so grand.
There's blue ageratum lining my path,
pink and blue phlox gently hugs the birdbath.
Magenta geraniums in the pot on the stoop,
a bit temperamental, cuz sometimes they droop.
Does orange go with pink? I threw in a splash.
When talking 'bout nature, nothing can clash.
Under the dogwood, in the bed that I made,
are soft, pink impatiens, they relish the shade.
The tuberus begonia with big yellow face,
gives me a wink when I enter my place.
My yard is resembling a Crayola box.
If you saw it I fear it might knock off your socks.
The fresh scent of basil should throw you a curve.
Breathe deeply and wake up your olfactory nerve.
My garden of colors comforts my soul.
I am happy to say, I accomplished my goal.
Come by for a visit, I'll give you the tour
of the small slice of heaven outside my front door.
