My Reality Check Bounced

A new list of Axioms
came out today~~~~
and this was one of them.

It really got me to thinking~~~~
maybe not such a good thing~~~~

My Reality Check Bounced.

My reality check bounced, but that's OK,

I like being a bit ignorant, anyway.

I don't read newspapers or magazines,

And my life seems to be really serene.

If I happen to turn on CNN

I recall how things were ‘Way back when'.

Now its wars and rumors of more of the same,

And someone calls us a naughty name.

They talk of famine in this; the third century,

And I wonder why we aren't like Jesus asked us to be.

We grow enough food and then we throw it away,

And those in Africa are dying every single day.

Predators on the World Wide Web molest

Children by the thousands, and that's just a guess.

We can't make a law that has some teeth,

To get these criminals off the net or the street.

My reality check bounced, but that is OK

Just look heavenward, for the Lord is on His Way.

If these aren't the last days, then woe is me.

Because they sure as hell seem to be.

But then, my reality check bounced.
