Whenever I see the trees so tall
Or feel the snowflake's fluries fall
And hear the bird's lonesome calls
Your shadowed face I then recall

Your smile which hovers in my mind
Which always bring sad tears that blind
My weary eyes which cannot find
Your tender smiles and eyes so kind

You had to go away from me one day
Although I cried and knelt to pray
I could not hold you back to stay
From going down that dark one way

He's resting in God's eternal peace
A loving friend so true, so brave
Whose last words were "talk to you
Another day."

Alas! my dear friend Bill is gone
To see that everlasting dawn
Fishing for his favorite prawns
Maybe mowing heaven's lawn
