 He Gave Thanks
He gave thanks,
Knowing the dark moments ahead
Would involve tears, wounds and His own bloodshed.

He gave thanks
Fulfilling His Father's Will…
For us poor sinners His blood would spill.

He gave thanks
Spoken words from Him were said …
Remembered for this day, so we too can be fed.

He gave thanks
Thinking not of Himself, only of others
Cleansing the souls of all sisters and brothers.

He gave thanks,
How can this be?
My Lord gave thanks …
Eternal Love has saved me.

Luke 22:19
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it,
and gave unto them, saying,
This is my body, which is given for you:
this do in remembrance of me.
