Hello Jesus

Hello Jesus, can You hear me
I've never talked with You before
Never read Your Holy Bible
a book I chose to ignore

But tonight I saw an old man
who lay dying in the street
he was just some old beggar
that a gang chanced to meet

He told me with his last breath
to listen for my sake
saying, they can kill the body
but the soul they'll never take

Well something happened to me
for I'd never felt that way
and there down on my knees
I felt this urgent need to pray

Lord please forgive me
I've caused such pain and strife
let me be Your servant
for the rest of my life

Lord please give me a sign
can You talk with me tonight
save this wretched soul
lead me on into the light

Then I heard a voice say softly
I talked with you in the street
for I was the dying man
who was lying at your feet
