 My Dreams

Do my dreams defy logic?
My empty heart thirsts.
Two choices rise up to greet me,
like the fork in the yellow brick road.
Arrogance strongly speaks my truth,
the low road is crowded enough.
I humbly accept nothing less
than what I deserve.
My soul reaches upward toward
my well deserved highest good.
I look back and wink at my youth
with a heart overflowing with gratitude
for past lessons learned.
Taking these first steps toward my dreams
is like walking through a nebulous haze.
Each step forward adds one more welcomed piece
to the puzzle.
When the last piece falls into place
will I see your face?
