I get real delight out of little DJ,
Warms my heart to watch him at play;
He'll skip and hop and flip and run,
Even by himself he has lots of fun;
He loves his sisters, his father and mother,
The apple of his eye is his little brother;
At times he'll vex him into little scraps,
Might push or hit him, tease him, perhaps;
Incidents like these, though, are very rare,
As a norm DJ is gentle and fair;
I can always tell when he's feeling bad,
Tries to hide the mood but his eyes look sad;
He never wants me upset by anything,
Likes it much better when I laugh and sing;
His smile is warm, his temper mild,
Fine qualities indeed to find in a child;
Among all the special treasures I've got,
When DJ's around, he makes me smile a lot;
He's one in a million, this grandson of mine,
Whenever he's near life is peaceful and fine.
