*:ˇ. A Bet *:ˇ.
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
She was a vision standing there, to three young friends sitting near
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
A girl with hair of golden hues, so sweet her smile, a breath of air
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
To three close friends who gathered there, touched by the frothy taste of beer
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
The night turned into a pleasant game in which they'd try their best to claim
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
The lovely girl's inviting smiles and it became those drinker's aim
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
To win this charming female fair, they plotted well with skillful care
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
And as they tried to guess her name, she too returned their drunken stare
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
The stakes grew high, to their surprize
As very soon one won the prize
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
Which was to take her for a spin in his new car so warm within
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
A bright new day had just but dawned as one young man stretched and yawned
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
What happened to the prize he'd won? Where had the lovely young girl gone?
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
Through his fears he began to search, in vain he ran high and low
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
Up to this day no-one knows but her parents came with tears a-flow
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
Did she vanish into the night?
A posse team too late were sent
Cops were called, to lend a hand
So one young man in prison spent
*:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:* *:ˇ..ˇ:*
The rest of his life thinking how
The bet he made, to hell it went!
