Poetry For Everyday People

No Time For BS

I don't care to endure
anymore
dance tolerance
smoke forgiveness
kiss understanding
umbrella my heart
unwater my potential
smile and listen,

as my poem drowns
as my cereal drowns
as love steals another
rose
as 151 rum is poured legally?
as we are handcuffed
for good illegal smoke?
as friends die?
smoking bad legal smoke?

the air is clean when
I read.

Coltrane takes you
by the hand,
Muddy always gives
it to you straight

in the eyes of the Blues
lies the true mirror
that seems all I can
dig anymore.
