The diamond blue sky
Gracefully acquiesced
To the draped canopy horizon
Sprawling toward us like
A lush vernal carpet
With green beasts
Of stationary movement
Exploding in kaleidoscopic variety
Whispering in muted tones
--faint hydraulic signals
Perceived by fish
And watery things,
Pulsing tiny rhythms
Beneath a symphony of insects
Layered under bird songs
And augmented by the occasional noise of
Internal combustion engines
Off in the distance
Belching their distinctive arrogance
Into this sacred current of sound
Your eyes were of the sky,
Your smooth, pale arms
Were like the soft stalks of lilies
And I could see the estuaries
That quietly carried life through your form
And only the colors of Eden surrounded us
While the vines and ferns embraced our ankles
Playfully pulling us down
Into this sea of green
And our bodies entwined
Like the twisted limbs
Of the plants beneath us
And the moist vapors we expired
Sparkled viridescence
In plain view of
A diamond blue sky
