Dominique

Little Dominique has had a time of it,
Pain and suffering, she's risen above it;
Been having surgery since she was four,
Runny nose, bad cough, throat always sore;

In hospitals from Cleveland to Birmingham,
She's been very brave, our sweet little lamb;
She even had surgery on her eyes,
And it's amazing how she never cries!

The one who usually does all the crying,
Is me, her grandma, I'm not lying;
I wonder if knowing how much we love her,
Always made it easier for her to recover;

I hope her future days will be free of pain,
That she'll never, ever have to suffer again;
She's like a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day,
Dominique makes me happy in every way;

I've always done my best to be near
To calm her and try to ease her fear;
Never have I had pleasure so pure and sweet,
'Til this little girl made my life complete.
