Call You Home

As the sky blue river
swells with melting snow
I try my best to capture this time
it's slipping and moving so fast
soon a bittersweet new season will come to pass
and as the water flows through the streams
it's time to say goodbye, maybe forever
my sweet dear friend

I'm gonna miss you this I know
though I'll be just another memory when I go
and when time has turned and changed me
for bitter or better
and I stop and roam no more
will you let me once again call you home?

The sky is open and soon I will fly
the road holds no bounds
just tiny whistle stops
through these small towns
and though I will no doubt shiver in this cold
my dreams are waiting
for me to catch up with them
I could drink it in for hours
and never take my fill
I tell myself that I'll never forget
and I know I never will

I'm gonna miss you this I know
though I'll be just another memory when I go
and when time has turned and changed me
for bitter or better
and I stop and roam no more
will you let me once again call you home?
