Heart Of The Matter

Waiting

I'm sitting in a station,
Just waiting for a train,
It's running late,
I have to wait,
To see you, once again,

I feel some apprehension,
And cannot comprehend,
I've waited far too long for this,
The beginning,
Of the end,

It's been a long time coming,
A gradual decline,
The simple realisation,
You were never,
Really mine,

Your letters held no comfort,
The words did not ring true,
You sealed the envelope,
With a kiss,
Your heart, it stayed with you,

So I'm sitting in the station,
Watch the world, go passing by,
I don't know what I'll say to you,
Hello, maybe,
Goodbye.

The train is now arriving,
Deep breath, and here I go,
I make way for the platform,
But you simply,
Didn't show.
