Heart Of The Matter

Golden Moment

I searched to find a photograph,
And found some shots of you,
Kept safely in an envelope,
With the little map you drew,

A map, which clearly told me,
The route I had to take,
To find you waiting patiently,
For a wrong turn, I would make,

Eventually, I met you there,
With camera at the ready,
We waited for the setting sun,
The tripod held it steady,

We sat and talked a little while,
And marveled at the view,
And then, awhile in silence,
Golden moments, now so few,

The night was still, becoming cool,
The scene before us changed,
For God, was in His Heaven,
The picture re-arranged,

And when the sun sank far below,
The hills set to the west,
The darkness settled on the loch,
Just at the suns' behest,

I'm glad I found the photograph,
And the memory held within,
For we were there, my Dad and I,
And I've written this for him.
