ONE DAY AT A TIME

You are a treasure I've held on to with all my might,
With anticipation your future will be bright,
Your sweet smile, always glowing with such pride,
I've even fantasized you as a princess bride.
                
You kept your grace and zest for life,
As you began climbing new steps in life.
The doors opened your mind with wisdom,
While you carried out each step with stardom.
          
A bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils, I will pick for you,
Like a flower losing its petals, new ones will grow anew,
As the roots hunger to be nurtured with attention,

Expansion of wisdom is never ending,
