Are You Engaged?
Been living,
Much too quietly,
Far too long,
Preferring solitude,
To wine and song,
Responsible for me,
And me alone,
And when I need to talk,
I lift the phone,
I dial a number,
Written in a book,
And wonder,
Did I let you off the hook?
I hear a sound,
An old familiar tone,
Are you engaged?
Or are you not alone.
