Absent Minded

If I am to drink

Honored to lie to you
To see you crash and burn
Another testament to your glory
Some other answer other than the lesson
I was looking for.

Opening my eye to the enlightened way
Of you r being
Placed me in the midst of your misery
Where I can be the happiness
Shrouding me in simplicity
To find ways to complicate this ease
That I was looking back for.

Enraged to be complexed like this
With a burden on my shoulders
Weighing me down
Modern concepts of thoughtfulness
Of no answer to who
I really am

Full of dark desires
Yet enthralled with the light
Wishing to play a bigger part
In the mystery
Than the miniature
That I am

This question drags me down

Masked with my good intentions
Not like you would ever trust me ever again
I sleep with one eye open
So you don't get me in the
Bliss of my wake
Or the night of my dreams
So I dream awake

Cold-blooded arguments
Lead me to this fountain
Do I want to live this life forever?
If I am to drink.
