Poetry For Everyday People

Carnival Smells And Sounds

It feels good
when the fair
comes to town,

the little fair
with the old
squeaky rides,
Italian sausage
grilled onions and peppers,
london broil with melted cheese,
cotton candy,
funnel cakes,
popcorn,

kids walking around
with gold fish and
smiles,
bumper cars,
the house of mirrors,

bells and smells,
bells and smells,

it's safe here my friends,
ski ball,
darts and balloons,

all the carnies look
like poets,

THE FAIR'S IN TOWN,
THE FAIR'S IN TOWN,

grab your girl
and win her a prize,

THE FAIR'S IN TOWN,
THE FAIR'S IN TOWN.
