I'm so accustomed to saying your name
Nothing for me is quite the same
At the end of the day as I creep into bed
Long after my nightly prayers are said
I turn off the lights and sense you near
I'm bound to your memory which I hold dear
It's your face I see when I close my eyes
Your voice cause an echo akin to a sigh
I hug your pillow and it's your body I feel
But I know in my heart it's not for real
This cruel war has taken my love
God had need of an angel above
Oh please tell me how can I go on
When your warm kisses forever are gone
I tell our children things will be okay
But they know those words are old cliches
I wonder do you hear at your grave I cry
These sad questions I ask....
Why? Why? Why?
