Flickering Flame
A flame flickers
As the ghost of you, wisks past,
I look deep into it
And thoughts of you, seem to last.
I watch the flame flicker
When the wind blows at night,
Remembering the love we once shared
You always knew, when I was filled with fright.
I look deep into the soul
Of this flickering flame,
Knowing you will kiss me
And we'll never embrace again.
The heart of you
Is consumed within,
This flickering flame
Will never be blown out again.
