Poetry For Everyday People
Gay Is Happy (Religion Or Law?)
She was going
shoe shopping
on her day off,
she threw her
hair in a pony tail
sticking out of
her pink
Blues Goddess
cap,
white tight fitting
cotton shirt
with the word: PEACE
faded blue jeans
flip flops
pink toe nail polish
black nail polish
on her middle fingers,
she jumps in her car
kicks off her flops
feeling the peddles
underneath her feet,
she employees
over a thousand people,
her food drives require
big trucks, her community
service and environmental work
effects millions.
She pays hundreds of thousands
in taxes.
It's her day off
she was going
shoe shopping,
instead she drives
around for hours
mind consumed in
anger, frustration,
she's in love
with a beautiful
woman but can't get married?
they have done
everything right,
yet her government
has let religion?
dictate the law.
she was going
shoe shopping
on her day off,
instead she's driving
around confused
disappointed
violated
angry
wondering if she
has a country?
shoe shopping
on her day off,
she threw her
hair in a pony tail
sticking out of
her pink
Blues Goddess
cap,
white tight fitting
cotton shirt
with the word: PEACE
faded blue jeans
flip flops
pink toe nail polish
black nail polish
on her middle fingers,
she jumps in her car
kicks off her flops
feeling the peddles
underneath her feet,
she employees
over a thousand people,
her food drives require
big trucks, her community
service and environmental work
effects millions.
She pays hundreds of thousands
in taxes.
It's her day off
she was going
shoe shopping,
instead she drives
around for hours
mind consumed in
anger, frustration,
she's in love
with a beautiful
woman but can't get married?
they have done
everything right,
yet her government
has let religion?
dictate the law.
she was going
shoe shopping
on her day off,
instead she's driving
around confused
disappointed
violated
angry
wondering if she
has a country?
