The Rain Pours Down
The rain pours down
Outside my windows,
I hear birds singing
As the wind blows.
The spring rains come
A month too late,
Flowers bloom gracefully
Around the park gates.
The sky is dark and dreary
As the rain falls faster,
Clouds loom overhead
They are the master.
Droplets of water
Lay on God's sweet smelling grass,
I'm hoping soon
The rain will pass.
The weather calls
For thunder and lightning,
I enjoy listening and watching
I don't find it frightening.
The rains have slowed now
The calm before the storm,
I'm happy I'm inside
Where I'll be nice and warm.
