"ignite into a blaze"
i arch and lean across the heat
of your dark breath
like the blade of night gleams in the light
of the moon;
your breath flutters me like a feather
transforming me from light to dark
easing me into my new found colours
and then welcoming me.
with hand to mine,
i step through the slip of night
swathed in your breath
hypnotised by the pendulum of your dominance.
i hear only your breathing
filling me and carrying me to a place
that is only you.
trembled breath greets and kisses your air
as it kneels in that small space between
boots of hard tread:
ignite into a blaze of serving.
