A Walk In The Park (Part III in the "That Alluring Scent" series)

Finally, winter relinquishes its frosty hold
over the city.
The sun shines brightly, breathing new excitement
into my life.
My heavy winter coat is retired,
as I grab a lightweight sweater
and eagerly head outside.
Optimism abounds in the nearby park.
Frisbees are flying, dogs bark playfully,
as the warmth of the sun kisses my face.
Cool breezes tantalize me.
Like a child, I am drawn to the ice cream parlor,
so many people with the same idea.
Deciding on Rocky Road, I rush quickly to the
last available table.
As I approach, I am struck
by a familiar, sensual scent wafting around me.
I see another hand on the chair
I am about to sit in.
The handsome man with the signature dimple
gallantly seats me
and asks if he may join me.
I smile and nod, as a million thoughts
race through my mind, like sparks flying.
Fate has stepped in and offered us another chance!
I have never felt this comfortable
with a man before.
A certain "knowing" fills both our hearts,
and the first step toward each other
has finally been taken.
