A SHORT BREAK

A SHORT BREAK

Caravan hooked up off we go
Hope the traffic isn`t too slow,
We`re going down south you see
Destination, Burnham-on-Sea.

Driving along the motorway
There are road works needless to say,
The traffic is heavy both ways
Always is on Bank Holidays.

Some idiots are on the road
Think they should read their highway code,
Have to be alert that`s for sure
Driving sometimes can be a chore.

It`s trying to rain, what a drag
Now it will wet my England flag,
The clouds are heavy all around
Rain drops on the windscreen do pound.

Road works here, 40 miles per hour
Ease up on the pedal power,
Lasts for miles seems to be no end
Enough to drive you round the bend.

We`re now nearing our journeys end
A text to my daughter I send,
`Arrived safely, here at long last
But the sky is quite overcast`.

`Look after the dog, feed the fish
Tortie needs water in his dish,
I`ll see you soon but miss you so
It`s only a short break you know.
