A Synthetic Soul

A Glimpse

Fight back the tears that are dying to stream down your face
you've no place this time to cry or feel this pain.
A mistake it might have been for you to try and feel again
but you know you're not mistaken each time your fingers meet her skin.

Screaming inside not to let her go.
What if this were the last time you'd ever have her to hold.
You've held an angel and felt her breath upon your ne.
You've seen inside her mind and fell in love with what you've glimpsed.

If she were only yours you'd make it worth her while.
Like watching the sunrise you'd wake up early just to see her smile.
You wonder if she sees how much you care when looking into your eyes,
or how it feels for you when she's not there and you miss her all the time.

Fight back the fear of dying with only your empty arms.
Pray your angel will show you another glimpse inside her heart.
Close your eyes when you give her a subtle kiss,
and tell her that you've fallen in love with what you've glimpsed.
