‘So shut your mouth and be quiet!
And do as you are told!' He spat;
While he threw her across the room;
And she landed on the mat!
‘This is our little secret!' he leered;
‘It's a secret between us two!
So shut your mouth, and behave!
While I do as I please to you!'
So she lay there quiet and shaking;
Knowing there was nothing she could do,
She took the punishment, as she did;
But why he did it, she had no clue.
He breathed his foul smelling breath,
And her lungs filled with filth from him,
She didn't struggle, she couldn't.
For this fight she could never win.
He left the room, left her there;
With the words he always instilled;
‘It's a secret, shut your mouth!
Or your mother will be killed!'
She lay so quiet and still,
In a crumpled heap behind the door;
All bloodied and dirty, but; at peace;
For there she lay, dead on the floor!
He could no longer inflict his pain on her;
Nor did she need to keep her secret within,
For be sure, with absolute certain;
They would for certain know it was him!
They found her scrap-book in the drawer,
In the dresser in her bedroom;
In her childish 6 year old hand writing,
She had made certain he's meet his doom!
His imprint was there for all to see;
He could never wash it away!
So he hung himself with a rope that week;
They found him dead one week to the day!
