Heart Of The Matter
Trusting
Now, will I learn to trust again,
Tonight, I'm not so sure,
I only know the cause of pain,
For which, there is no cure,
They say that with forgiveness,
We learn to love once more,
But trusting is not easy,
When you're hurting to the core,
For it's the ones you love the most,
Your trust in them complete,
Who seem to strike the hardest blow,
And leave you in defeat,
They say that if you send out love,
You're sure to get it back,
But sometimes what's returned to you,
Is vicious, in attack,
Then one fine day, you realize,
They were not worth the pain,
But can we really heal the wounds,
And find our trust again.
