Liberty

She tided the kitchen
Muttered that's that
Put on her coat
Put on her hat
A quick peck on the cheek
As she walked out the door
Freedom for two weeks
But I can't cope anymore
I look at her pillow
Carrying the shape of her head
Look at the vast empty space
At her side of our bed
I know I'm a baby
But I feel so alone
A bed's just a bed
When you're there on you own
I've a freezer full of food
A fridge full of beer
But it isn't the same
When she isn't here
I'm sulking and complaining
And living like a hog
But when she comes back I'll be
Happy as any other two tailed dog
The house will be neat
I'll clean up that day
Before she comes back
From being away
I'll put flowers in a jar
To say that I missed her
And maybe I'll hug her
And maybe I'll kiss her
But a silly old cove
Like me just doesn't say
I missed you like hell
While you were away
Emotions are things
We just never show
But somehow I think
She'll probably know
