A New DelilahDelilah stood at the door, Seeing who she could lure; Curious who would dare, Be tempted into her lair. She knew what it took, Of every trick in the book; Just as a spider to a fly, She could make them buy. Seduction was the key, Of an enticement that she; Making the guys weak, In a strong desire to seek. But Delilah met her match, When she could not snatch; A man with a Bible in hand, And a heart at God's command. He taught her how to repent, Restitution to circumvent; As the Spirit cleansed her sin, A new Delilah was to begin. Richard Newton Sherrer Copyright ©2006 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
