PROUD TO BE

Proud I love you
Even though I don't know why
Wanted to be true
Until you made it clear you're her guy

Proud you hurt me
That's why I cry so much
Even when you desert me
I still beg for your touch

Proud I am a woman
This one's an emotional being
There's times that femininity's coming
Then it's you that's all I'm seeing

Proud, I've lived through hard times
From incest to labor camps
That pain's why I write rhymes
There my pains with date and time stamped

Proud that you're a man
Loving kindness fills me if you hold my back
Behind my heart, between my shoulder blades your hand
There makes all whole what I lack

Proud I keep giving
Sorry if it's heaven, then it's hell
Others want me to keep living
Without your love, I am not well.
