MRS. WALTER JAMES STURTEVANT

That's me
If wife
To be
In this life

Not Sadler
Not Ball
Not Giurlani
At all

Anderson? go back
Easy name
Sturtevant detach
No need to feel shame

Let marriage go
Ten years separated
Unmarried woman know
It's growth, unfailing, uncomplicated

Married once
Never again
Sitting dunce
Who you trying to kid

Marriage, not all romance
Mean mister took all
Refused to do a husband's dance
Their women spin uncaught to fall

He didn't go to work
No compassion for your tears
Injustice did lurk
On my soul those years

Be married to the love of God
Take vows to love you dearly
Eccentric poet divorce is odd
It's time to change though clearly.
