An Approaching Storm
I hear the approaching storm,
And see clouds start to form;
As to what was in my view,
It looked as a big one to brew.
Rumble of thunder to be heard,
As if stampede of a cattle herd;
Getting louder as a flash of light,
Streaking across caught my sight.
Crackling noise seeing a bolt hit,
As if a mad dog that took a bit;
Charging down into the ground,
Leaving me nearly spellbound.
Clutching hand in hand to pray,
I asked our Father not to display;
Awesome power a plea to cease,
So that our minds can have peace.
Lightning suddenly faded away,
Because God had told it to obey;
The same of thunder to diminish,
Since God commanded it to abolish.
