 One Life's Pilgrimage

Spontaneous Rant - T H E    H I N G E  to be edited someday by Sonja

My heart truly aches for all of you who, because of intellect,
aren't actively on a spiritual
quest.

One Saturday this long prose wrote itself.
It still needs a lot more editing.

The plain and simple truth is that IF:

You believe you have a Heavenly Father; and
He created you and this world; and
He is constantly aware of everything about you; and
He loves you and provides everything for your good; and
You can live with Him eternally if you strive to be like Him,

                              THEN:
It becomes difficult to do something to jeopardize
             this potentially eternal relationship.

                 Reality hinges on our beliefs.
This truth is such a huge relief.

                     If the eye is single,
and our hearts full of love
                  then life can be joyful.
We can become like the Lord.

You may ask, "How do I find the above to be true?"
"Is there something I must read or something I must do?"
We, who know, grapple with this question, too.
"How do we inspire you and get this message through
when, in truth, your success is solely up to you?"

Experiment, if you must, but start your journey with this major clue:

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God,
and all else shall be added unto you."

You then may ask, "What is the first step I must take,
if  this spiritual quest I choose to partake?"

Well, you've heard the answer a thousand times or more.
It works even though it seems like an intellectual chore,
and viewed by many as a total bore.

The pathway Home is found by studying the Scriptures,
and by praying and asking to understand what is true.

Truth is understood in your heart not your mind.
If you haven't studied the Scriptures yet,
you're probably not naturally inclined.
If you don't study, you'll undoubtedly remain quite blind.

The Lord has promised "Ask, and you shall receive" and "Seek and you shall find" and I say

"Refuse wisdom, and you will be sadly left behind"

We push ourselves to do many things
we are not naturally inclined to do.
Take time to think of at least a few.

This is wisdom:  Know that within your heart
there is a Spirit that wants you to start
your spiritual quest.  To study and learn
how to be your very best.

What keeps so many from studying the Scriptures each day?
What has driven so many to start this journey without delay?
What keeps so many captivated by a story born 2,000 years ago?

There are millions waiting for the next time He will show
His glory, dominion, and angels from above
bathing us magnificently with His perfect, Eternal Love.

Oh, deep thinkers that are at odds
with any and all concepts called God!

Why persist in thinking all Christians are fanatical or odd?

You work diligently to create any scenario except Christianity
to guide you through this mortal experience,
to tell you what to be.

We want you to try something very new.
We present the following challenge to you.
Something concrete that you can do.
We want to share what has given us joy
in spite of pain, suffering, and loss.
We have gained a miracle,
a change of heart.
We have the strength to endure,
until the hour we depart.

This challenge will be a good experience
if viewed in the correct light,
guaranteed to save you from Life's Miserable Plight, which is:

To live and die never understanding the reason why.

For  regardless of how you feel towards the Lord,
He loves you deeply.
He keeps the promises you will hear in His words.
So, please don't consider this challenge absurd.

Just give it a chance, and learn for yourself
how blessed, cherished, and loved you are
no matter how great your sins may be.
The Lord came, suffered, and died to set you free.
You are cherished and He wants you to know Him.
He wants you to understand your mission on this earth.
Because of your love for Him, you chose your human birth!

You knew that this life was a test
to prove the quality of your heart.
You chose to risk losing your wisdom
from the very start.
Please accept this challenge
and give your soul a chance to return to Him.

This is not a threat just the truth,
if you refuse and choose to remain ignorant,
your eternal future could be quite grim,
compared to the Glory
that you could choose
to eternally live in.

The Challenge:  Give Jesus Christ a chance to enlighten your soul.

Change what you do to relax at the end of the day.
Instead, for one month, watch a portion
of the movie "Jesus of Nazareth."

Rewind and replay the soliloquies.
Look into His eyes as He speaks.
Focus on His words.

Listen carefully and feel how He affects your heart.
Pray and ask to know if this story is true.
Ponder and let His Spirit speak to you.
Find the hope He offers.

Let go of the anger you suffer, if anger is what you feel.

Many hypocritical Christians have ruined many good people's
chances of wanting to know anything they preach to be true.

Blaming them and remaining Eternally cursed
is just not a good enough excuse for ignoring your soul
and denying that the Lord exists.

Forget and forgive any and all that have harmed or disappointed you.
Obviously your persecutors haven't learned what Christians do!

For a true Christian reaches out with unconditional love.
A true Christian is not judgmental.
A true Christian worships the Lord
and not money, power, or fame.
And a true Christian will never be blamed
if ignorant to Christ
is what you choose to remain.

In the end, we are each accountable
for everything we study and learn.
The quality of our Eternity is individually earned
and graded by our achieved quality of heart
before this mortal existence we depart.

If this experiment causes you to have negative feelings,
ask yourself:

"Where are these feelings coming from?
Jesus Christ is a famous person.
I would enjoy learning more.
And, just perhaps, great blessings are in store."

Know that you are loved by Him
whether you choose to believe or not.
If you will take this challenge with an open heart,
I promise that your true journey will start.

You may find your hidden Spirit, yearning to be expressed
and the increase in your self-esteem, I know you'll be impressed.   You will also learn that your Spirit has been with you
from the beginning
and no longer will you take
pleasure in what is called sinning.

What is your foundation without spirituality?
How can you depend on your self-made reality?

Contention does not come from the Lord of Light.
Please include this information in your life's plight!

A life spent with the notion: that it will end abruptly has such a melancholy gloominess about it.
Why would you allow your heart to be attached
to anyone or anything if this is all temporary?
That would hurt too much, that would be contrary.

Or maybe you would just have to become numb
or present yourself as ignorant and dumb
to the big picture,
remaining enraptured by the moment.

Be one of the "I, me, my, mine, now generation."
Very scary.  Very possible.
Could be the end of this great nation!

Is it this notion, there is nothing to lose,
that gives people permission to rape, pillage,
hate, murder, and remain confused?
With nothing but death to look forward to,
why would you care about anything you do?

Oh, how would it be to not have this Eternal Mindfulness?
To have worked so hard to learn the Truth
and lose it would be the greatest calamity
and misery imaginable!

How could each day be filled with wonder and challenge?
Why bother trying so hard to be nice?
Why not get lost without virtue?
Why not get hooked on some sort of vice?

I can still remember,  I will never forget
how I suffered from loneliness and felt
so totally lost.
I never liked me.
I was tossed about
like a leaf floating on the rough sea.
A lot of people got to just use and abuse me.
I never sensed that I had the right to say no.
I felt cut off from the world, with no safe place to go.

Each Christmas I would look into
the windows of homes bright with lights.
I felt like an outsider looking in,
wondering what it would be like to be
wrapped in one of those holiday homes,
looking out and feeling accepted,
loved . . . and not alone.

When a door would close behind me,
a painful echo of emptiness would ring
somewhere deep in the pit of my being.
The ‘pursuit of happiness' was
nothing but a lie.
I ached, I cried, and often prayed I could die.

Thank God that is all behind me now.
I was blessed to find the Truth profound.

My journey took nearly thirty years and,
if you look closely you'll see the stains from my tears.
However, a closer observation will reveal
the gleam in my eyes and the love I feel.
Now that I love me, I am able to love you.
And I am pleased to say that, to the best of my ability,
I am doing My Father's Will.

I shudder as I reflect on the decades of my life
when I didn't know who I was and what I am.
I felt lost and insignificant.
These were the dark days and
nights of my Soul.

I can hear the intellects now murmuring "Ah, religion!
It is so needed by the unfortunate and insecure.
Some invisible being to cling to
because they don't have what it takes
to make it in this world for sure."

But wait!  I think it might make logical sense
to evaluate some of the great ones, like you:
Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, George Washington,
and Steve Martin to name but a few.
They also believe in invisible beings called Jesus
Christ and God.

Why chain yourself to some un-Godly,
           self-proclaimed paradigm and stay there.

Isn't intelligence curious?
Why would a truly intelligent being
refuse to enjoy the pursuit of Truth?

This is Wisdom, before you're old
seek Truth as a youth!

Something new can be stimulating,
uplifting, endorphin releasing.
It is good to seek and even better to find.

Here's a thought.
You are afraid of getting trapped in a bind.
You may  have to change your mind.
You may even have to change your behavior,
especially if you want to become like the Savior.

That could be an embarrassment after spending years
defending your non-sectarian stand.

This could be a clue to explain why you choose
to remain a stranger to the greatest story ever told.
Ego.
You may find something greater than you.
Or perhaps your convinced that your sins
are too colorful to ever be acceptable
to the Lord.
This, my friend, will never be true.
But you will only know if you
take the journey.

Can you bare your soul?
Can you let being like Him become your life's goal?

There are so many of us that have found a great joy.
A knowledge of who and why we are.
Some are called "Born Again" and, in Truth, we are.

A change of heart takes place that no one can describe.
A change you will never know to be true unless you take the ride.

There is nothing to lose - you're going to die
We can all agree to this.
Why remain ignorant and miss all the Bliss?

There is everything to gain if you will strive to believe.
We promise, there is no God of wrath and anger up our sleeve.

A God of love and permissiveness perhaps.
He asked us if we wanted to become like Him.
We said "Yes", were born, and this test begins.
How we fare, how we play,
what we do, what we say
He left up to us.
Free Agency is the rule of this game.

We are free to seek mercy, money, or fame,
to believe or not to believe.

Please take a stand to learn for yourself before it is too late.

And if we Christians seem somewhat desperate to share,
can you at least try to be fair?
It takes a great deal of conviction for us to even dare.
But we do.
Because of our love for Him, we love you.

We know that we have a Heavenly Father.
He knew that we would make mistakes over and over again.
He provided His Son, Jesus Christ, to become our willing Savior.
His Sacrifice is what makes it possible for us to return home to Him.

Like Him, we willingly chose to take this body
and endure this life
riddled with happiness,
pain, and strife,
as our way of learning
and earning our way back home.

If we will truly strive to be like Him,
and follow the straight and narrow path,
we will return to our Heavenly Father's Kingdom
and live with Him eternally,
maybe in the same cul-de-sac!

This possibility promotes joy, gives life purpose,
and makes it possible to forgive all those who have or may harm us.

This makes it fun to freely give our love to each other.
The potential for eternal relationships makes it fun
to become a father or a mother.
Families can be together forever!

Believe or don't believe, it matters not.
The Truth will be, it does not depend on you and me.
The Truth just hopes we win.

Life will continue it's play.
Bad things happen to ‘good' people.
Good things happen to ‘bad' people.
That is just the way it is.
Nonsensical, at random, ironic, chaotic,
uncertain, symbolic.

Philosophers have frustrated themselves
and us to death with speculations.
The answers are as many as there are individual human beings.

Life is individual in it's experience
and universal in its foundation.
It is our free agency that creates our individualism.
This is the most exciting paradigm.
What gives life its savor is how we choose to play our part.
For God so loved us that he gave us our free agency.
We get to choose.
We get to play and win or to play and lose.

This is the real challenge.
We all get to use the same road map and each
plot out our individual route.
No one can do it for us.
We have to do our part.
We have to do the work,
focus our mind, and open our heart.

We pray you will take the journey starting today,
and remember to ask those around you for directions on your way.  Sharing helps you avoid unnecessary delay
although maybe not quite as profound
as choosing to solely meander around.

And nowhere is where you will go,
if you tread too cautiously and move too slow.
However, even the slightest effort will allow you to grow.

So let go of the paradigms that you use as a crutch,
especially if they don't help you enjoy life that much.

We want all of you to join us on that happy day
when we return to the Father forever to stay.
Oh, before we forget to mention it,
before you start your journey, remember to pray.

For us, we just have to say
we are so happy deep within our Souls
that God so loves us that He gave us the control.

This is why we  follow the commandments and chart a steady course.  We choose to exercise our free agency and live without remorse.

We ache for all those that we love so dearly
to live with us, with Him in peace eternally.

Everything on this planet pales in comparison to this potential.
The thought that this eternal reunion is not possible
robs us of what is essential for our self-esteem and joy.
We would cease to have a definitive, eternal purpose.

We know better.  He has shown His Hand in our lives so often, in so many ways, that we cannot deny Him.

We know we have a Heavenly Father.
We know Jesus Christ is His Son who chose to live and die for us.
We know that we all are His Divine children.
He loves us unconditionally.

These truths are the only basis of a healthy self-esteem,
this  knowledge of His Love Supreme.

                 Reality hinges on our beliefs.
This truth is such a huge relief.

If the eye is single, looking forward to an eternal reward,
then life can be joyful, thoughtful, meaningful, spiritual, and
families and friends can be together forever and ever.

And not come to a screeching halt
when our dead bodies are placed in a vault.

Oh, I almost forgot,
you might end up
eternally unhappy by default.
