Reflections of My Perceptions

The N Word

Ludicrous and absurd
for some to claim a soothing purpose served
while Simultaneously demanding its usage be reserved
Yet declaring indignation over racism, what a nerve!
suddenly they can recall memories, stories, crosses burned
when from the lips of the wrong skin color it is heard
but still not insisting it be expunged nor purged
for it must fly from their own, freely as a bird
though it easily reverts back to epiteph, slur
when not used in reference to his or her
if it hurts so much when this occurs
why not insist, desist, interr the N word
if not, how can you say it's not deserved
when used simply because their skin is different from yours?
