After three years of marriage she was always in tears
Seeing mothers with carriages brought on more fears
Being close to babies was harder to bear
Her pleas for one of her own she voiced in her prayers
But he was a lawyer involved in his career
No time for children he had many more years
They drifted apart in a very cold way
She with her church groups he with nothing to say
At times they looked at each other wanting to speak
But none had the courage to sit down or meet
So on with their lives their habits they kept
To ignore the abvious and in silence she wept
Until one morning she had all the signs
Wondering to herself she checked just in time
It was the day of his birthday and she planned a fine feast
A way to share the secret praying he'd listen at least
To her surprise he grabbed her in his arms
Laughing and crying with his all old charm
A baby's wonderful birth was the right key
To bring them together and to set them free
From the torments of a marriage going all wrong
To restore their love and to heal it along
