Poetry For Everyday People

Old Souls

All the unspoken
lingering
as if ghosts
were words

years tangled
in jasmine veins

iron arbors
fountains
old books
gargoyles
ancient walk ways
lanterns burning safe

rain falling
on sculptures
teasing time
gliding wetness
filling
beautiful places,

climbing white roses
weaving Sunday quilts,
news papers rolled up
waiting, red cherries
on soft clouds, the perfect hat
for this year's snow woman,

smell
of jasmine,
wine swirling in fine
crystal, in paper cups,
tongues tasting pleasure
poetry dancing

forever.
