Old Man Put Your Watch Away!
Old man put your watch away
You're much too obsessed with Time,
That commodity use that you can't slow down
For soon 'twill be gone you will find.
Gazing at that watch of yours
Precious Time you are wasting,
Making the most of what time that you have left
Sweet fullness of Life be tasting.
Forget those moving hands
And get your own to working,
For your idleness makes for an emptiness
The very thing you're shirking.
Get up and so get out
See the world you are missing,
Sitting there rocking away your life
On rewind, reminiscing.
Talk a walk while thinking
And so exercise your mind,
Look around at the outside world
And a fuller life you'll find.
Forget man-made comforts
Discover nature anew,
Feel more alive than you have for years
A part of what's going on, too!
Old man, be young again
As a new life you accrue,
Forget that old ball and chain of Time
It has made an old man of you!
