"Tearing Down Internal Walls"

I want to run and hide
As shallow as it may be
Following that empty path
Where love is so full of irony.

It still hurts
Moreso now
Seeing who I lost
And knowing just how.

It was so very simple
And quite easy to see
Blinded from common sense
And allowing "YOU" to be.

Can't talk now
Angry with your words
Even though I used to listen
What you said, I rarely heard.

I would love to say
"How do you do?"
Yet I can't
Because it's you !

What's done is done
It's over, we didn't last
All I have right now
Is fond memories of our past.
