 Sir Galahad -Falklands War 1982

Fancy a game of cards Fish?
Anyone want a brew?
When are you going to change your socks?
Hey mate sling that over here.

Yorkie snoring gently,
hands behind his head.
Beret tilted over his face.

AIR-RAID WARNING RED!

Jet engines screaming overhead,
a blinding flash of yellow and orange.

Men were dying in front of me,
crying for their mums.
Blistered skin, clothes alight.
Hands melting, suffering.
Thick acrid smoke,
lungs suffocating.

Running, running, running.
Just running for my life.
Cruelly crucified soldier,
fighting to break free.
The stark images left.
After the bombs had struck.

GET ME OUT OF HERE!

Sea King and Wessex helicopters overhead,
bravely battling to save those left.
Ammunition below exploding,
so much suffering, so many dead.

Beautiful day, when hell was unleashed,
at Port Pleasant,
Falklands,
South Atlantic Sea.
